“We stayed here for 4 weeks and loved this campground! Workers were so friendly and very helpful. Nice size lots. Liked that there was laundry on sight. Loved that the rules are followed and enforced. Will definitely stay here again!

This campground is clean, peaceful, and secluded, yet close to all points you want to visit. We stayed in mid-October and the colorful trees in the camp were an added bonus. As far as the hosts go, a friendlier and kinder bunch cannot be found! Our only regret is we didn’t stay longer!

We stayed one week and were very pleased with the campground and owners. Very quiet and friendly. The site was level and had full hookups for 45′ coach. Lots of room. The owners were knowledgeable about all of the surrounding areas and gave us the best advice on when the best times to tour the area. Located in the middle of some historic and beautiful country just a short drive to Bar Harbor

We enjoyed this park due to its close proximity to Bar Harbor, Acadia National Park and the little town Ellsworth was an added bonus. We stayed in the new section which does not have sewer, but the sites were long, level and wide. Very peaceful, quiet, and close to everything. Will definitely return to this park if in the area again!

Nice and quiet place with helpful owner and seasonal campers
We chose Forest Ridge because of the proximity to Bar Harbor/Acadia without all the traffic and crowd, the access to the downeast scenic drives, and the positive reviews.
This campground is neat and tidy and best of all quiet and peaceful. We used the laundry room and everything worked well. We even had a lovely oak tree on site 4 to give us some shade.
On July 4, we had an issue with our power. We did not know whether it was our camper, the power cord, or the power service. Jeff and two seasonal campers worked diligently to help us resolve the issue. Wanda and her husband (seasonal campers) offered to go home (an hour drive each way) for us and get a power cord to see if they could help. When they returned, we still couldn’t figure out the problem so Jeff went and bought loads of supplies to see what he could get to work. He bought a longer cord so we could hook up to the adjacent campsite until the electrician could come the next day. The electrician came early on July 5 and fixed the issue. Another seasonal camper came to help and we had a lovely chat with him also. Jeff and the seasonal campers couldn’t have been nicer or more helpful, especially on a huge holiday. We would love to stay here again in the future.

If you want peace and quiet this place is for you! Quietest campground we have ever been to. Mostly older adults, a few families with children who seem to behave themselves well. Barely a sound after eight o’clock. No loud music parties or vehicles in and out all night. Sights are decent size hook ups all worked well. No store but town is only a couple miles away. Showers are adequate and pretty clean. There is a pool and small playground for kids. Nothing fancy , but the place is clean and well maintained. Again the peace here is just fantastic! I don’t give five stars very often but Forest River was easy to rate.
* * * * * We finally made it to Maine after six months of experiencing so much beauty. Our first RV park in Old Orchard was a horrible experience. You can look that up on my other reviews. With that said our goal was to find a beautiful RV park located between Acadia National Park and Bangor. So I decided somewhere around Ellsworth. I started reading the reviews about Forest Ridge and the one star that someone wrote caught my eye. The things that the person said was exactly what I was looking for in a park. When my wife, two little fur babies and myself arrived at the park we were greeted by the owner(Jeff)and his wife. Immediately they made us feel like we were welcomed guest. The park is so beautiful with the top part being partial shade and the bottom half being mostly shade with a beautiful setting. The lots are huge compared to the other parks we had stayed at.
The grass was constantly being maintained. Everyone we met at the park was so friendly to us. Most of all the park was very relaxing and safe. I walked my dogs without fear of being attacked by other dogs. No drunks, partying or craziness was allowed. The people drove their vehicles with respect for others. The restrooms and laundry was immaculate.
The park was perfectly located exactly where we needed it in order to visit all of the beauty we traveled so far to experience. A special thank you to Jeff for checking on us and keeping a clean and safe place to stay while in Maine.
We rode the free LL Bean bus a couple of times into Bar Harbor and was able to go inside several other RV parks on the bus route. They all looked so crowded and mundane. I honestly feel we made the best choice by choosing Jeff’s park, and don’t let me forget to mention we got to meet Darrel the famous ATF dog.
Jeff please don’t ever change a thing in your park, it’s perfect just the way it is
