About Us

In 2012 we purchased a campground called “Hospitality Woods”. The original campground was build in the late 1990’s and the prior owners, Linda and Dan McClellan who ran the campground until 2009, when they listed it with a local realtor. It remained on the market until 2012 when we contacted the realtor and asked if he could show us the property. With the property being closed for three years there was a lot of work that we needed do.

We closed on the property on July 1st, 2012 and Hospitality Woods became Forest Ridge Campground. At the time, the campground was situated on 26 acres. About 7 years ago, we purchased two adjoining properties and now Forest Ridge sits on about 49 acres. Thanks to all our family and friends who helped us clean, remove trees, pick up downed limbs, paint the bathrooms and laundry room and ALL the other tasks, we officially opened on August 1st, 2012. Over the past 12 years we have seen continued growth of our customers. Many of you have made Forest Ridge what it is today, a little piece of heaven on earth. We look forward to the many years to come.

Many of you have asked how did “Flockamoosen Way” come about. In 2014 I was with a tree surveyor and we were surveying the property for boundary markers and the surveyor was doing a tree growth study, we were deep in the woods and we came across two moose in a bog area of the property. I went home and told my son about the moose and he said, “Cool, a flock of moosen” The following year, the city of Ellsworth informed me that I could no longer continue using the address of “Our Way”, after a lot of discussion, Flockamoosen Way was born.

Since then, people have stole my street sign, I think we have replaced it three times. We now sell “Flockamoosen Way” street signs in our campground store.

We continue to be a small, family owned business. We are not owned by a large, out of state mega corporation, like many of the surrounding campgrounds are. We thank you for supporting small business!

We are looking forward to seeing you in the future and we always look forward to seeing our returning visitors and guests.

Yours Truley,

Lynn and Jeff, Nathan and Hadley, Cooper (the cat) and Goose (the dog).
